Sutton, Esther Anna,
Age 86, passed away on Thursday evening, October 8, 1998, at Hillside Terrace. Esther was born on January 2, 1912, in Ann Arbor, the daughter of Berthold and Ora (Gearing) Koch, and has been a lifelong Ann Arbor resident.
On July 18, 1932, she was married to Warwick Sutton. The Sutton's were founding members of Northside Community Church. Esther is a Life Member and Past MCO of the Daughter of Maconna, Zal Gaz Caldron. She was a medical secretary at the University Hospitals, retiring in 1974. Surviving is her husband off 66 years, Warwick Sutton; her children: Marcia (Robert) Leland of Northfield Twp., Sandra (James) Giesey of Defiance, Ohio and Wade (Patricia) Sutton of Pinckney; a brother, Owen Koch of Ypsilanti and a sister; Mildred Bamber of Oceanside, CA; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Memorial tributes may be made in her honor to the Hillside Terrace Resident Council, 1939 Jackson Ave., Ann Arbor, MI 48103, envelopes are available at the NIE FUNERAL HOME, 2400 Carpenter Rd., where the family will receive friends 6-8PM, Saturday and 2-4 and6-8PM Sunday. Funeral Services will be held 11AM, Monday, October 12, 1998 at the Nie Funeral Home. Burial will be in Leland Cemetery.
