SUFFOLK - - Barbara Carr Clements, 70, formerly of Cherry Grove Road North, died June 6, 2014. A native of Suffolk, she was born June 29, 1943 she was predeceased by a brother, Roland Carr. She was a retired owner/operator of the Red Barn Food Store in Portsmouth. Barbara was a member of Wesley Chapel UMC, Junto Women's Club and the Chuckatuck Garden Club. She loved to sing, play bridge, read, cook and eat, and her church and her friends. Survivors include her husband, Francis J. Clements, Jr.; daughter, Paige C. Minor and husband Allen of Smithfield; son, Francis J. Clements III and wife Nikki of Seaford; sister, Linda Cash, of Chattanooga, TN; five grandchildren, Matthew Holloman, Luke Holloman, Cassidy Clements, Cameron Clements and Rain Bruleson; and one great-grandchild, Adriannah Holloman. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 1:30 PM in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, Suffolk, by the Rev. Ileana Rosario. Burial will be June 10, 2014 in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday June 8, 2014 from 6-7:30 PM. Contributions may be made to Wesley Chapel UMC.
