In 1900 at the age of 3 years, Nora is listed in the home of Patrick Archer as his neice. After 1900 she is living in the home of the Trumble family and possibly lived with them until she died.
========
Some information on her father:
Peter Botts, 25, Germany, is listed with his 1st wife, Mary, 29, Ireland, and son, Michael, 1, VA. On the 1870 census for Falls Church township, Fairfax Court House, Fairfax Co., VA.
No. 385 - 375, dated 28 Jul 1870.
Birth records indicate that they had 2 known children. (From the dates of the childrens birth, there might have been more children ?).
Michael Botts, b. 30 July 1868
Bridgett Botts, b. 14 Aug 1880
Peter Botts, now around the age of 48 years old, now marries his 2nd wife, Nora O'Neil Mitchell on 22 May 1895 in Fairfax County, the daughter of J. E. Mitchell and his wife, Martha.
(Marriage bk 1, pg. 267, license # 20).
Nora's mother, Nora was born 30 Jun 1871 and died before 1900.
I have not found Peter Botts in 1900, but I found him in 1910 Lee dist., of Fairfax County listed as 68 years old and widowed.
Did he not want his daughter, Nora, or did not think he could take of her because of his age ?
Peter was the son of Casper & Mary Botts. (Who are buried in Arlington, VA.

Obituary notice for Nora V. Botts:
From the Fairfax Herald, dated 29 Jul 1910.
Nora Virginia Botts died at the home of Mrs. Trumble, near Burke, on Tuesday last, aged 14 years. The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon, Rev. E. J. Goodwin officiating.
(Please note the name of the Rev. was hard to read, correctly).
I made this for several reasons, one of them being so that Nora will always be remembered and secondly, maybe it will help solve the mystery of how and why she was buried with my relatives in the family graveyard.
