Daniel E. Hanley, age 93, of Wautoma, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Wild Rose Community Memorial Hospital.


He was born March 13, 1920 in the town of Marion, the son of Martin and Elizabeth (Beebe) Hanley. He married the former Adeline A. Wagner on December 10, 1949 in the town of Richford. She preceded him in death on March 23, 2010.


Dan served his country in the US Army in the Pacific during World War II.


He owned and operated Hanley & Bohn Welding and Machine Shop in Wautoma for a number of years. He retired as superintendent from Reinschultz & Dahl Construction of Madison in 1969.


Following retirement, Dan built numerous homes in the area.


He is survived by one son, Michael Hanley (Chris Grebe), Wautoma; grandchildren, Katie Hanley (Mike "Oscar"), Madison, Craig (Wendy) Grebe, Oshkosh, Brad Grebe, Lake Mills; Madison; great grand- children, Dylan and Andrew; nieces, Ashtoreth Keipe, Green Lake, Marie (Mike) Gates, Princeton, Annabelle Fenske, Richford. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.


In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lloyd Hanley, James Hanley, Robert Hanley; two sisters, Adelta Mae Savage, and Marcia Keipe.


Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Hope Lutheran Church, Wautoma with Rev. Nathan A. Gauerke officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Richford Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
