Samuel De Witt Sarget, 70, of East Lambert Road in Thornton, died Sunday evening in a Martinez hospital following an extended illness.
A native of Lincoln, Neb., he was employed at the Mare Island Navy yard in Vallejo until he moved to Thornton in 1960.
He is survived by his wife, Etta Sargent of Thornton; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Allen of New Westminister, B.C. and Mrs. Mildred Jessee of the same city.
Sargent was a veteran of WWI and a member of the American Legion Post of Vallejo.
