Scott Brandon, 71, of 332 South High Street, Carrollton, died in his home, Sunday, April 23, at 10:30 a.m. after a two month illness following a heart attack February 21 of this year. He had been in poor health for the past two years. He was born November 1, 1878 in Washington Township, Carroll County. He was united in marriage June 28, 1911, to Elizabeth Tennis. He was the son of the late Alexander and Mary Brandon. He was a life resident of Carroll County, and had lived in Carrollton proper for the past twenty-seven years. He taught in the county schools for approximately seventeen years; was county auditor from 1934 to 1931, was deputy auditor for the following twelve years; and was president of the First National Bank of Carrollton for the past sixteen years. He was a life member of the Carrollton First Methodist Church where he held the following offices; teacher in the intermediate department of the Sunday School; superintendent of the Adult department of the Sunday school; past president of the official board; chairman of the finance committee of the church; and custodian of the records. He was a member of the IOOF, Tripp Lodge 491, and a member of the Carrollton Civic Club.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Lynn Shotwell of Carrollton; one brother, James Brandon of Columbus; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; three sister and one brother preceded him in death. Services were held Wednesday, April 26, at 2:00 p.m. from the Methodist Church of Carrollton. Dr. Bernard T. Lomas and Rev. R. J. Marty officiated. Burial was in Westview Cemetery.
