Billy Joe "Teddy Bear" Padgett, 55, of Lancaster, passed away Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville KY. Surviving is his wife Yvette. Billy Joe was born on November 27, 1958 to parents Charles and Katherine Ramsey Asberry. He was a factory worker, enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and dirt track racing. Billy Joe was a member of Dix River Pentecostal Church.
Also surviving is two sons Bobby Joe Padgett of Stanford, KY and Charles Dexter Padgett of Lancaster KY; two brothers Mike Asberry of Lancaster, and Allen Padgett of Lexington KY, and eight grandchildren Xavian Padgett, Jakobi Padgett, Landin Raynes, Serenity Raynes, Peyton Dexter Padgett, Harley Kentlee Padgett, Matiline Quinn, and Bryson Howell. Billy Joe was preceded in death by two brothers Jackie Padgett, Paul Wayne Padgett, and a sister Vickie Bolton.
Funeral services 1 PM Thursday February 27, 2014 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Walter Bowling officiating. Visitation 6-9 PM Wednesday. Burial in Lancaster Cemetery.
