Candace C. Davis, 76, of Salem, W.Va., died on October 13, 1993, at her home following an extended illness.
She was born on June 29, 1917, in Salem, the daughter of Earl W. and Candace (Lowther) Davis. She was a graduate of Salem College, and taught art and history at Victory High School in Clarksburg, W. Va., for many years.
Candace was a member of the Salem Seventh Day Baptist Church, Friends of Fort New Salem, the Salem-Teikyo University Auxiliary, Harrison County Retired Teachers, and the Harrison County Historical Society.
Survivors include one sister, Eleanor Horner, of Lakewood, N.J.; one niece, and two nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Leah Virginia Davis and Miriam D. Hess.
A memorial service was conducted on October 19, 1993, by the Rev. Dale Thorngate at the SDB Cemetery in Lost Creek, W.Va.
