Marvin W (Buck) Buchanan, 86 of Laurel died Saturday June 7, 2014 at the Care Center in Laurel. He was a member of West Laurel Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and was retired from the U.S. Army.
Services will be 11:00 AM Monday at West Laurel Baptist Church with burial to follow in Liberty Cemetery in Stringer, MS. Visitation will be Monday from 10 AM until service time at West Laurel Baptist Church. Rev. Allen Hill will officiate. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of West Laurel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Ruby J. Clark Buchanan, his children Randol Buchanan and wife Rita Cormier Buchanan of Prairieville, La., Debbie Smith of Collins and Pam Buchanan of Laurel. Grandchildren Stacey Harter, Kyal Buchanan, Kimberley Buchanan, Alan Smith and Kristen Buchanan Buley , Great Grandchildren Olivia McILwain, Rickie Buley III, Landon Buchanan, Kylen Buley, Dawson Smith and Chloe Smith. Preceded in death by his parents Lee Vester and Mary Ann Hill Buchanan, sisters Beatrice Weirich, Bobbie Nell Edwards and son-in-law Ted Smith.
