Ida May Frazier, 91, Scranton, Kansas, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014, at an Emporia, Kansas care facility. She was born December 16, 1922, at Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Paul and Suzie J. Toms Radig.

She grew up in Emporia. May was a business woman. She owned and operated the Palm Gardens, at Topeka for several years. She later owned and operated the Tropicana Club on 56 Highway, south of Carbondale.

She was a member of the former Ladies Auxiliary to the William Tyree VFW Post No. 11255, Carbondale, and a member of the Eagles Lodge, Osage City, Kansas.

May was married to Ralph Frazier for 31 years. He preceded her in death May 27, 1996.

She also was preceded in death by a brother, William E. Radig and a sister, Mary Alice Vaughn.

She is survived by five nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at the Carbondale Church of Christian Fellowship. Burial will be in Scranton Cemetery, Scranton, Kansas. She will lie in state at the church from 11:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society, and sent in care of Carey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 196, Burlingame, KS 66413.
