Lowell Dahm, 67, of New Sharon passed away Friday morning, June 6, 2014, at his home in New Sharon.

Marvin Lowell Dahm, the son of Cornie and Tena(Brandstra)Dahm, was born on February 7, 1947 in New Sharon, Iowa. He was a 1965 graduate of Pella Christian High School. On November 8, 1968, Lowell was united in marriage to Linda Vande Wall. To this union three children were born: LeAnn, Lance an Laird. Lowell farmed most of his life Southwest of New Sharon and worked for Pella Corporation for nearly 20 years before retiring. Lowell had a passion for fast pitch softball. He began playing when he was in 7th grade and, during his 27 year career, he pitched a perfect game. Lowell also enjoyed golfing, bowling, coffee time with his cousins and a few friends in Pella, fishing, taking boat rides, spending time with family at the lake, and traveling and dining out with his wife, Linda. Family was very important to Lowell. He absolutely loved spending time and supporting his grandchildren in all of their activities. Lowell was a member of the New Sharon United Methodist Church, the Eagles in Oskaloosa, the Elks Lodge in Oskaloosa an he was a charter Member of the Prairie Knolls Country Club.

Lowell is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Dahm of New Sharon; three children, LeAnn(Brent)James of Montezuma, Lance(Sara)Dahm of West Des Moines and Laird(Morgan)Dahm of New Sharon; five grandchildren, Joslin(Pete)Gessner, Mackenzie James, Nolan Dahm, Amelia Dahm and Eli Dahm; one great granddaughter, Graycie Gessner; a sister, Carmen(Frank)Reitsma of New Sharon, and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, Cornie and Tena Dahm, and a sister, Rosemary Dahm.

Funeral service will begin at 10:30 am Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the New Sharon United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery in New Sharon. Visitation will begin after 12 pm Monday, June 9, 2014 at the New Sharon United Methodist Church with the family present from 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the McCreery Cancer Center in Ottumwa or the New Sharon United Methodist Church.
