Phyllis J. Slauterbeck, 86, of Fremont, died Thursday evening at her residence. She was born February 20, 1928 in Old Fort, the daughter of Charles and Clara (Schmitz) Beier. She was a 1946 graduate of Old Fort High School. Phyllis enjoyed gardening, Soroptomist Club, Bingo,and cards, playing Pinochle with the same club for 66 years. Phyllis was owner of Frederick's Monuments, Frederick's Power Equipment, Old Orchard Motel, Robo Car Wash, and Thornwood Golf Course. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was active in the Blessed Sacrament Confraternity.

Surviving are her children: William (Edith) Frederick of Vevay, IN, Diane (Gary) Frederick Bedsworth of Payson, AZ, David (Laura) Frederick of Fremont, OH, Bruce (Connie) Frederick of Fremont, OH, Donna (Bernardo) Cruz of Wichita, KS; step-daughter, Cheryl Oberst of Port Clinton, OH. Grandchildren: Jeffrey, Lawrence, Donald, Amanda, Ashlynn, Lauren, Tracy, Toni, Timothy; 10 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husbands: Don Frederick and Don Slauterbeck; siblings: Clayton Beier, Clarence Beier, Roman Beier and Bernice Meehan; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8P.M. at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, Ohio. Mass of Resurrection will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Rev. Ken Lil officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Sorptomist Scholarship Fund, Blessed Sacrament Confraternity or Hospice of Memorial Hospital. Online condolences may be expressed at www.kokm.net
