Dr. Lockwood was a well-known physician in the late 19th, early 20th century specializing in diagnosing and advising method of treatment for stomach disorders. He practiced at Bellvue Hospital, NYC, was Professor of Clinical Medicine at New York Columbia University, and wrote a book, A Manual of the Practice of Medicine. He a consultant in the case of President Grover Cleveland during his final illness and death.
