Rebecca Jo (Shoop) Hunley, 61, died June 5, 2014. She was born March 8, 1953, in St. John, Kan., to Homer and Helen (Heter) Shoop.
She married Rick Hunley March 8, 1973, in Hudson, Kan. He survives of the home. Other survivors include: two daughters, Hannah Smith (Jerrod) and Frances Lyons (Josh); two sons, Reed Hunley and Gates Hunley (Marlena); two sisters, Jean Hixson (Larry) and Karen Nelson (Larry); a brother, Don Shoop (Holly); and five grandsons, Brayden, Carson, and Dillan Smith and Maddox and Gabe Lyons. She was an active member of Antrim United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi sorority chapter Xi Zeta Eta, and United Methodist Women. Previously, she was the Stafford County 4-H Horse Leader, a member of Martha Rebekah's, and a project leader within the Antrim Streamliners 4-H Club. She worked for the Ida Long Goodman Memorial Library and most recently as a Para educator at SCK-SEC.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Minnis Chapel in St. John. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at the Antrim United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Rose Valley Cemetery, rural St. John. Memorials may be made to South Wind Hospice of Pratt, Kan., in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
