Graves in old part of Elm Ridge their grave site is marked only with their names, no dates. Robert J. Jeffery came to Boston Ravine in or about 1861 from Cornwall England and was a bar keeper for years, bought up land which remained in the family until about the mid-fifties.
The tavern was right out of the western movie set, swinging doors, hitching rail, water troth and all. It was boarded up. It burned to the ground in the earlier fifties. The location was where the highway to Marysville departs from Auburn highway.
