Celebration of Life Services for Lloyd Green, age 80, of New Market, who entered into peace Friday, May 16 at the Clarinda Regional Hospital, Clarinda, were held Tuesday, May 20 at 11 a.m. at the Ritchie Funeral Home in Clarinda. Visitaton with the family greeting friends was held one hour prior to services Tuesday morning at the Ritchie Funeral Home. Burial of ashes with military rites was at the Memory Cemetery in New Market. Instead of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to Harvest Family church in Shenandoah.

Lloyd Earl Green was born March 8, 1934, in Ault, Colo. The son of Chester Gorman Green and Alice Louise Epperson Green.

Lloyd grew up in Ault, Colo. where he attended Ault High School and gradutted in 1953. After graduation, Lloyd answered the call to serve his country entering the United States Air Force, serving in the post Korean Conflict. While serving his country he was stationed in Denver, Colorado, Victorville California, and overseas in Okinawa, and Japan. On June 5, 1954 he was united in marriage to Sharlene Mae Mathews in Ault, Colo.

He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1957, and the couple moved to Fort Collins, Colo. where Lloyd worked in the retail business for several years. In 1970, the family moved to New Market, Iowa to be near Sharlene's family. Their sons, Kelly Earl and Cecil Ray attended the new Market School and graduated from New Market High School. Lloyd finished his working career after 22 years of service to the Lisle Corporation as a Screw Machine Operator and a Tool & Die Maker, retiring in 2000. Lloyd was a member of the Baptist Church. He loved hunting deer, pheasant and Quail as well as trout fishing in Colorado and enjoyed reading in his free time.

Left to cherish Lloyd's memory is his loving wife of sixty years, Sharlene Green of New Market; his two children, Kelly Earl Green and Wife Doris of New Market; and Cecil Ray Green and wife Lori of Manor, Texas; a grandson, Levi Ray Green of Des Moines; a sister, Barbara LaBarbara and husband Vito of Eaton, Colo.; along with many other family members and friends.

Preceding Lloyd in death are his parents, Chester and Alice Green and a sister at infancy.

Lloyd's memory will be cherished by his family. May God grant comfort and peace to those who mourn his passing.
