MONTECALLO James V. (Jim), 91, of Brick, NJ, formerly of Hackensack, NJ, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 31, 2011.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Minnie Montecallo, brothers Felix, Nicholas and sister, Venus Accordino. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth (Bette), his sons, James, and wife Ivis, and Robert Montecallo, his daughter Susan Pagano, and husband Chris, and six grandchildren; Robert, Gina, Allison, Jaclyn and Lisa Montecallo, and Jenna Pagano.
Jim was born on March 18, 1920, in Jersey City, raised in Oakland, NJ, graduated from Pompton Lakes High School and attended Seton Hall University. Jim was a retiree of the American Can Company in Jersey City.
Jim was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He was shot down over the Austrian Alps and was taken Prisoner of War. Jim was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, was Chairman of the Greenbriar II AudioVisual Committee and was involved in many activities within his community.
Visitation will take place at O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, on Sunday, June 5, 2011, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, June 6, 2011, at 11 AM, and will include military honors.
