Sarah E. Coleman, 89, of Ashland passed away Thursday morning, June 5, 2014, at her residence following a short illness.

Sarah was born March 12, 1925, in Bethany, Kentucky, the daughter of Taylor and Maude (née McDaniel) Graham.

She had been employed at Simmons, Ashland Rubber, A.L. Garber Co. and was a balloon printer at National Latex Co., where she retired from in 1987.

Sarah attended Ashland Dickey Church of the Brethren. She was a member of Ashland Council on Aging and Ashland Senior Citizen Center, where she volunteered in Bargains in the Belfry. She enjoyed writing poetry, gardening, keeping in touch with family members via her computer and most of all being a loving mother and grandmother to her family.

On July 27, 1946, Sarah married Robert M. Coleman, who preceded her in death July 20, 1991.

She is survived by three children, Robert G. (Chris) Coleman of Arlington Heights, Ill.; Pamela S. (Lonnie) Hinton of Ashland and William L. (Kim) Coleman of Westerville; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Dorothy (Jim) Maxwell of Franklin; and three brothers, Andy (Mary) Graham, Junior (Della) Graham and John (Vertriee) Graham, all of Campton, Kentucky.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert M. Coleman; and two brothers, Edgar and Cecil Graham.

Funeral services will be noon Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Zuercher officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family 11 a.m. to the time of funeral services Tuesday June 10, 2014.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Ashland Senior Citizen Center's Bargains in the Belfry, 615 W. 10th St, Ashland, Ohio 44805; Emmanuel United Methodist Church breakfast center, 322 Cleveland Ave., Ashland, Ohio 44805; or Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
