Charlotte Anne Ferguson, 85, died June 6, 2014. Funeral service will be June 9, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. A private interment, for family only, will be in Decatur City Cemetery.

Funeral service for Charlotte Anne Ferguson, age 85, of Decatur, will be Monday, June 9, 2014, 2:30 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Rich Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service. A private interment, for family only, will be in Decatur City Cemetery.

Ms. Ferguson, who died Friday, June 6, 2014, at her residence, was born April 1, 1929, in Morgan County, to Robert S. Ferguson and Lenis Mae King Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her parents, and five siblings, Robert Ferguson, Jr., Herbert Ferguson, Virginia Glass, Bobbie Reim, and Elizabeth Ferguson.

She is survived by one son, Mike C. Brooks, III (Margaret) of Chelsea; two daughters, Deborah B. Hendrix (Larry) of Decatur, and Nancy B. Davis (Bill) of Birmingham; one brother, Billy Mack Ferguson (Doris) of Montevallo; six grandchildren, Brooke Hendrix Haynes (Jason), Lauren Brooks Shivers (Stephen), Bryant James Brooks (Laura), Steven Brent Hendrix (Sara), Kelley Davis Descher (Eric), and Jamey Davis (Candace); and 10 great-grandchildren, Carden Constance Shivers, Margaret Marie Shivers, Ava Leveaux Haynes, Grayson Alexander Hendrix, Joshua Davis Descher, Katheryn Elizabeth Descher, Emmercyn Leigh Descher, Austin James Davis, Alexandra Claire Davis, and Addison Marie Davis.

Pallbearers will be Bryant James Brooks, Steven Brent Hendrix, Bob Qurnell, Ralph Ferguson, Stephen Shivers, and Jamey Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Descher, John Duncan and Peter Duncan.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley for their support of them during the illness and passing of Ms. Ferguson, along with their compassionate care of her.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to the Salvation Army.
