Norma June Swadley Dawson passed away December 28, 2012 in Ocala, FL. Born near Council Hill, OK, on August 15, 1934, to Roy and Minnie Swadley, she attended Elm Grove Baptist Church, Victor School and Checotah High School and then began working for the FBI in Washington, DC. Norma married William Goff and became an “Air Force Wife” and mother of four children, relocating their family often. After her children were grown and finding herself single again, she returned to work for the FBI. On April 9, 1980, she married Robert J. Dawson, and they moved to Florida upon retirement. She is survived by husband Robert, sons Steven Goff (Mary) of Columbus, GA and Douglas Goff, Holiday, FL, one brother David Swadley (Jackie), Enid, OK, and sisters, Carol Daugherty (Bill), Muskogee, OK, and Nina Kindred (David), Plano, TX, stepson Michael Dawson, Japan, stepdaughter Susan Brigden, England, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, daughter Kelly (Goff) Sauls, son Donald Goff, brother Kent Swadley, half-brother Leroy Swadley, stepson John Dawson, stepdaughter Lee Dawson. In honor of Norma’s life, her family will host an informal memorial service at Elm Grove Baptist Church on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at 2 pm, officiated by Rev. Rick LaBounty and Rev. Jerry Qualls. Family and friends are encouraged to attend and share memories.
