Harvey Land, 88, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Fredericksburg Funeral Home with the Rev. David Priem officiating. Marjorie Ottmers was the organist and Kenny and Jackie Kunz, the vocalists. Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation was held Tuesday evening, Nov. 3, and Wednesday morning, Nov. 4, at the funeral home.
Land was born July 22, 1921, in Gillespie County, the son of August Land and Anna Heimann Land. He married Gertrude Schuch on Nov. 6, 1941, in Fredericksburg and she survives.
In addition to his wife, Land is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, including Pat and Stanley Crenwelge of Fredericksburg and Donna and Robert Wolf of Austin; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, including Netti, Mrs. Rudy Schuch, and Margaret Sattler, both of Doss, and Irene Land of Fredericksburg.
Land was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leroy Land, and a sister, Ellen, Mrs. Eugene Feller.
