A graveside memorial service for Joann Braswell Craig of Cordele will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will meet with friends immediately following the service. Mrs. Craig, 79, passed away Wednesday at her residence following a lengthy illness. Her husband, Paul Wilson Craig preceded her in death. She was born in Wilcox County and was the daughter of the late Rev. Alvin Braswell and Essie Powers Braswell. She was a retired teacher and a member of Cordele First Baptist Church. Mrs. Craig is survived by her children, Paul Wilson Craig, II and his wife, Molly of Lavallette, WV, Patrick Arthur Craig of Porter, TX, Jana C. Calhoun and her husband, Mike of Alford, FL and Suzanne C. Hester of Cordele; seven grandchildren, Dianna N. Craig, Andrew L. Craig, G. Wilson Craig, Abigail G. Craig, Joshua K. Hester, Angeina V. Hester and Amanda Craig; one great-granddaughter, Naomi Craig; and special cousins, Norma Jean Hawkins, Virginia Nolley, Sara Howell Brown and Robert Braswell.
