Drew Nelson Taylor, 51, of Gainesville died Friday after a long battle with non-hodgkin lymphoma at Peachtree Christian Hospice, Duluth.
A native of Lambert, Miss., he had been trained as an emergency medical technician and nutritionist. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Flowery Branch, GA.
Drew (Mary Ruth Beil) was known for his infectious laugh and generosity. He loved animals and people and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.
Growing up in Boca Raton, Florida and Mississippi he loved the deep south and enjoyed traveling between the two until 1989 when he moved with his wife Dale Taylor to Georgia. Eventually divorcing Drew focused he effects on his pets and friends. He was fiercely loyal to those he loved.
Survivors include his Aunt Glynda Bailey, and father, Harry H. Beil, Little Switzerland, N.C./Summerfield, FL.
