Walter Glenn Rhyne was a Mount Holly, North Carolina native. On November 22, 1939, he and Miss Mary Reid Ragan were married at First Presbyterian Church, Columbia, South Carolina. They made their home in Gastonia, NC, but spent most of their winters in St. Petersburg, Florida, and Phoenix, Arizona.

Mr. Rhyne died on October 2, 1952, and was first interred in the Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Charlotte, NC. Nineteen years later, on Mar. 24 1971, he was removed to a crypt in the Ragan Mausoleum at Oakwood Cemetery in Gastonia, by McLean Funeral Services.
