George was the great-grandson of Austin Beasley, Jr. (of Duplin County, North Carolina and later Dale County, Alabama) and Eleanor Reed Powell. Great-great-grandson of Pvt. Austin Beasley, Sr. (a Revolutionary War Soldier & large land owner), and Polly Mary Hollingsworth Carroll Beasley.

At 8:30pm on May 19, 2014, our sweet beloved cowboy, grew his wings and became an angel in cowboy boots. George Russell Beasley was born on February 19, 1939 in Hillsboro, NM. George was a gracious soul and a true cowboy. His best friend was his horse, Comanche. George loved the life of a ranch hand and wore cowboy boots and a cowboy hat every single day, no matter what he was doing. George is preceded in death by his wife Priscilla Beasley, his parents, and his brothers, Herman Beasley and Roland Beasley. He is survived by his children: Tim Beasley of Las Cruces, Franklin Dean Beasley of Las Cruces, Kenneth Ray Beasley of Farmington, Charles Russell Beasley of Temple OK, George Allard Beasley of Phoenix, D. Sweetman of Thievezville, OK, Leonard Beasley of Las Cruces; His brother David Beasley of Las Cruces, His sister Nona Thompson of Wisconsin, His sister Catherine Cass of Arkansas, His favorite nephew Billy Beasley of Las Cruces, and his beloved caretaker, friend, and sister-in-law Carolyn Beasley. Services will be private.
