M. Colleen (Collins) Lucas, 85, teacher, loving wife, and mother, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 07, 2014, at First Christian Church with Debbie Hines officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 06, 2014, at Lacy Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home. M. Colleen was born in Stephenville on October 26, 1928 to T.B. Collins, Sr. and Lula (Tolbert) Collins. She married Richard Lucas on October 22, 1952, in Lingleville, TX. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Stephenville; and Order of the Eastern Star, Bryan, TX. She was a Past Worthy Matron for the Oriental Chapter #6, Misawa, Japan. She was a Counselor for Wilford Hall Air Force Hospital for Cancer patients. She was among the first female basketball coaches in Texas. Survivors include her husband, Richard Lucas, Stephenville, TX; one daughter Kathleen Lucas, Gainesville, FL; one son Robert Lucas, Lake Dallas, TX; and one brother, Don Collins, Branch, Ark. She is preceded in death by one sister, Lynn Moy and two brothers, T.B. Collins, Jr., and Johnny Blake Collins.
