Lesley Kent Barker, a resident of Mermentau, LA., died Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Jennings American Legion Hospital. He was born on June 20, 1960 to Anna Belle Cormier-Barker and Crawford Barker.
Lesley was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Mermentau, LA., pastored by Reverend Dr. Stacy S. Poullard.
Lesley is survived by two daughters, Amberly (Amy) Girouard of Scott, LA and Destiny Barker of Jennings, LA; three sons, Dameon Girouard of Scott, LA., Tremayne LeBlanc of Crowley, LA., and Lesley Isaiah Barker of Jennings, LA; his former wife, Linda Barker; his mother, Anna Belle Cormier-Barker; three brothers, Crawford Barker Jr. of Gray, LA., Gary (Carolyn) Barker of Cusseta, GA., and Terry L. (Vivian) Barker of Crowley, LA; three sisters, Jonetta (Glen C.) Wise of Washington, DC., Jacqueline Barker of Oxford, Maryland and Particia (Michael) Barker of Baton Rouge, LA; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Crawford Barker Sr; two brothers, Don L. Barker and Marvin Barker.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11:00 am at Semien-Lewis Mortuary in the David J. and Rosa W. Fondel Sr. Church Chapel with Rev. Dr. Stacy S. Poullard officiating. Visitation will be in the Chapel from 9:00 am until time of Funeral. Burial will be in the Silverwood Community Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings, LA.
