He studied English literature and accounting at Utah State University from 1960 to 1964, before embarking on an exceptional career in banking and business. His generosity to the southern Nevada community led then Governor Richard H. Bryan to declare Dec. 7, 1988, as "Richard Taggart Day." Dick loved the outdoors, woodworking, golfing and corresponding with his many friends and loved ones. In recent years, he split his time between Las Vegas and Cedar City, Utah. Dick was preceded in death by his father, DeVere; and his daughter, Susan.
