Kimberly Dawn Church Craig, 47, of Lenoir passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Wake Forest Medical Center in Winston Salem.

Ms. Craig was born in Catawba County to Mr. Harold Wayne Church and Ruby Townsend Church of Lenoir. She was a teacher and a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Banner Elk where she was a member of the Lutheran Church Women Missionary Group.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Claude and Helen Townsend, and her paternal grandparents, Ernest and Ruth Church.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son Alex Craig of Lenoir; her daughter Cassie Craig of Lenoir; her sister, Kristie Church Norwood and husband Joel of Hudson; nephews, Brandon, Joshua and Matthew Norwood of Hudson; great niece Audrey Steele of Gastonia and numerous cousins, other family members and friends.

Services will be held Friday, June 6, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Banner Elk with Reverend Al Mullens and Reverend Joel Norwood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Norwood, Joshua Norwood, Matthew Norwood, Dusty Townsend, Kenny Townsend and Wesley Braswell.

The family respectfully requests that memorials be made to Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Banner Elk.
