Winifred E. Beck, age 94, formerly of 1310 South 14th Street, Manitowoc, died Sunday June 1, 2014 at the Villa of Felician Village.

Winifred was born on April 14, 1920 in Manitowoc daughter of the late Frederick and Adella (Clusen) Barnstein. She attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated with the class of 1938 from Lincoln High School. Winifred married Kenneth W. Beck on July 19, 1945 at First Reformed United Church of Christ. He preceded her in death September 26, 2009. She was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, Women's Guild and Church Council. She also taught Sunday School and sang in the Church Choir. Winifred was the Executive Director of the Housing Authority of the City of Manitowoc from 1975 until her retirement in 1983. She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of Manitowoc Chapter #196, Order of the Eastern Star and member and Past President of the Two Rivers/Manitowoc Shrine Auxiliary. She served as Bethel Guardian of Bethel #11 Job's Daughters. Winifred was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her three children: Christine (James Luetgert) Beck, CA; Marshall (Wendy) Beck, Manitowoc; Barbara Beck, Sheboygan; three grandchildren: Monica Beals, NC; Adrianne (Justin) Merkling, MI; Dana (Sharon) Beck, Madison; two great grandchildren: Jameson Merkling and Cameron Merkling, both of MI, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Kenneth; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Margaret (George) Beck; Kathryn (Herbert) Pleuss; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Vivian (Ervin) Wilke.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday June 21, 2014 at First Reformed United Church of Christ, 3613 Waldo Boulevard, Manitowoc. Rev. Richard Runge will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shriners Children Hospital or First Reformed United Church of Christ.
