Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, IL, with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials: First United Methodist Church and/or Friends & Families of Fayette Co. Hospital, both of Vandalia, IL.
He was born January 27, 1926, in Champaign, IL, the son of Lester R. & Glenna Dow (Price) Freeman. Married Norma "Jean" Chamberlin on June 20, 1948, Urbana, IL. He was a Manager for AT&T and a self-employed Telephone Tech.; Navy Veteran; Member of Crawford-Hale Post #95 American Legion; First United Methodist Church; Past President, Vandalia Park District and Vandalia Rotary, all of Vandalia, IL; and Chairman, Red Cross Blood Drive.
He is survived by: Wife - Jean; Daughters - Debby Themig & Michael, Vandalia, IL and Jody Little, Winter Garden, FL; Grandchildren - Matthew Little & Jessica, Granite City, IL; John Themig & Katie, Dallas, TX; Karen Black & Matthew & Kim Cearlock & Bryan, all of Vandalia, IL; Great Grandchildren - Ryan, Hunter, Brady, Blake, Ella, Chase, Ava, Marley, Teagan, Lane & Hudson; Niece - Rosemary Summers, Palatine, IL.
