Mrs. Florida Clouser Dies Thursday at Nursing Home---Toole County Resident Since 1912

Florida Emma Ables Clouser, 81, died in Shelby, Toole County, Montana at the Toole County Hospital from coronary thrombosis, severe diabetes, and arteriosclerosis. Prior to her death she was residing at the Toole County Rest Home. She had been a resident of Toole County since 1912, filing a homestead seven miles southeast of Lothair.

She was the daughter of William Edward Abels and Virginia McConnell Abels. She was born in Savannah, Andrew County, Missouri July 12, 1885. She had 5 siblings.

She moved to be closer with her sister and met the love of her life and married Bruce Willis Clouser on December 6, 1915 in Great Falls, Cascade, Montana. To their happy union they had one son, Ralph Clouser

The Clousers farmed at Lothair until 1954 when they moved to Devon to be near their son and family. Mr. Clouser Died November 7, 1957. Since that time Mrs. Clouser lived with her son, Ralph, and family in Shelby until she had a second stroke about four years ago when she moved to the Toole County Nursing Home.

She never applied or received a social security number. She was a retired housewife.

Survivors include a son, Ralph, Shelby; four grandchildren; a brother, Tom Abels, Savannah, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews. Grace, a daughter, died at birth in 1926.

She was buried July 3, 1967 at the Lothair Cemetery, in Lothair, Liberty County, Montana. Robert E. Burns, funeral director from Shelby, Montana, was in charge of the funeral arrangements. The funeral services were Monday at the Burns Funeral Chapel.

Pallbearers were John Edwards, Williams; Willis Violet, Lothair; Henry Kolstad, Chester; and Okie Field, Albert Carter, and Gerald Hermance, Shelby.

Songs were by Donna Kenyon and Hazel Taylor. Jerry Benjamin was on the organ and a solon was sung by Jerry Benjamin with Dona Kenyon as organist. The Ladies of Lothair served Lunch after the service.
