BANKER OF FIVE DECADES DIED TUESDAY
Harry A. Anderson, 76, of 882 Florence Ave., a Galesburg banker nearly half a century, was pronounced dead on arrival Tuesday about 1:30 p.m. at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
Mr. Anderson was a banker 48 years and was a vice president when he retired, Jan. 1, 1960, from the First Galesburg National Bank and Trust Co.
He was born Nov. 22, 1889, in Knoxville. He moved to Galesburg nine years later and spent the remainder of his life here. He was a 1906 graduate of Galesburg High School.
A World War I veteran, Mr. Anderson was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Elks Lodge.
He was married to Helen Elvera Pearson July 7, 1928, at Maywood. She survives along with a son, Thomas of Friendswood, Tex., and a grandson.
Funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Kimber & West Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday evening. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
