Hamburg Report [Hamburg, Iowa} 2 Nov 1933. Death of Mrs. A. Phillips – Bertie Helen Phillips was born in Carroll county, Missouri, August 3, 1889 and died at her home in Hamburg, October 31, 1933, aged 44 years, 2 months, 28 days. For the first nineteen years of her life she lived with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Beaty, and on September 5, 1898 united in marriage with Arthur Phillips who survives her. For the last nine ensuing years they made their home near Carrollton, Mo. During this period of time four children were born to this union, Mrs. Francis Brown, William, Arthur E. and Ruth. In 1917 the family moved to Hamburg, here Sidney and Mary were born. Mrs. Phillips united with the First Baptist church about nine years ?lated? and remained a faithful member until the time of her departure. She suffered a prolonged illness, beginning in April of this year. About two months ago a stroke partially paralyzed her and from that point she swiftly declined. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, interment made Thursday in the cemetery at Carrollton, Mo.
