Dr. Clinton Lee Burns
January 12, 1942 - May 6, 2014

Dr. Clinton Lee Burns went home to be with the Lord May 6, 2014 at 72 years of age.

He was born January 12, 1942 to E. Lee and Virginia McGuire Burns, both now deceased.

Dr. Burns is survived by his wife Fredia Daniel Burns, son Wesley T.N. Burns, Eight Grandchildren: Laura, Zachery, Lillyanne, Gillian, Liam, Cora, Emmaline and Nathaniel of McKinney, Texas; Sister Karan Fry, nephew Jeff Fry and Niece Missy Fry all of Amarillo, Texas.

Dr. Burns graduated from West Texas A&M University, did graduate work at Southern Methodist University and was a class of 1975 graduate of University of North Texas Health Science Center-Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He retired after thirty years of medical practice, having served in Emergency Medicine for Twenty years and Family Medicine for Ten years.

Dr. Burns served in the US Army 9th Special Forces and also in another branch of the Uniformed Service, the United States Public Health Service as Lieutenant Commander, Senior Assistant Surgeon. He led medical mission teams to Honduras and lived in Kenya with his wife and son ministering the Gospel as part of a medical mission team. His ministry included short-term service in Mexico, China, Philippines, Peru, and Germany. In Lake Texoma, he was pastor of Word Teaching Fellowship. Dr. Burns lived his long and blessed life helping others, loving and serving God, cherishing and leading his family, and enjoying his friends.

Gravesides Services were held 2:00 p.m. Saturday May 10, 2014 at Roaring Springs Cemetery Followed by a 3:00 p.m. Memorial at Roaring Springs Full Gospel Church, conducted by Rev. Eugene Green. Services were held under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home of Matador, Texas.
