Ethel Louise Henry passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at her home in Butte, surrounded by her loving family. She fought a brave and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Billings on Dec. 12, 1926, to Thomas and Pauline (Johnson) Gundry. She came to Butte with her family at an early age and received her education in local schools. She never missed a day of school. In her teenage years, she lived at the Columbia Gardens and had many fond memories of that time in her life.

Ethel married James William Henry in August 1945 while he was in the Army. Together they raised five children.

Ethel had a strong work ethic and worked numerous jobs in local restaurants, and after retirement she went back to work as a certified nursing assistant with Home Health. She loved to sew and crochet.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Mark William Henry>
, brother, Charles "Bub" Gundry, daughter-in-law, Penny Spolar, best friend, Shirley Paxson, and numerous aunts and uncles. She is survived by her children, Susan (Andy) Neff, Sharon (Barry) Farve, James "JT" Henry and Denise (Buck) Johnson; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jennifer Stevane and staff, especially Gina Cooney, the staff at St. James Healthcare and Rocky Mountain Hospice for their wonderful care. They also would like to acknowledge a lifetime of family and friends, both past and present, too numerous to mention.

Relatives and friends may call Friday, June 6, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the chapel of Duggan Dolan Mortuary.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, June 7, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. in the mortuary chapel. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials are requested to a charity of the donor's choice.
