Elmer Isaac
2/16/1914 - 5/27/2014

Elmer Isaac passed peacefully in his sleep on May 27, 2014. He was born February 16, 1914, in Coffeyville, Kansas, to Elmer J. and Laura L. Isaac, and grew up in Austin, Nev. Elmer moved to Austin to attend high school and worked nights attending the generator that powered Austin Light and Power. After graduating high school in 1932 he went to work in the mines. His father and mother, seeing Elmer's potential encouraged him to go to college. Working three or more jobs at a time, he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nevada in Reno, in 1939. He was hired by PG & E after college and in his 40 year career with the company, worked his way up to the head of the Construction Division for Northern California.
Like his father, Elmer was a lifelong member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. He was dedicated to God, had a passionate love for his country, and adored his family. Elmer spent his last 30 years as a resident of Rocklin and recently celebrated his 100th birthday with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, brothers Ralph and Joe Isaac, son Michael Isaac, daughter Melody Oakley and his wife of 20 years and love of his life, Sara Ruth Isaac. Elmer was 100 years old, which he attributed to his philosophy, "Everything in moderation, including moderation."
Elmer is survived by two sons, Ross Isaac of Corvallis, Oregon and Jack Kolb of Albany, Oregon, and a daughter Dianne Burroughs of Twain Harte Calif. In addition, Elmer was close to his 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and numerous cousins. Many fondly referred to him as "Uncle Elmer."
Elmer's funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 12:00, p.m.at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
