Ruth was born in Mooreville, Texas, to the late Huey James and Willie Agnes (Johnson) Taylor. She married Jack P. Lewis on July 7, 1943. Ruth was a member of the American Legion Post 440 Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, in 2005; and brothers, Bobby Lee Taylor, James Taylor and Donald Ray Taylor.
Survivors include her son, Jack P. Lewis, Jr.; daughter, Donna Young and husband, Jack, all of Bruceville; sisters, Barbara Darby and husband, Calvin of Waco and Mary Elkins and husband, Derrell; brother, Charles Taylor and wife, Beverly, all of Lorena; sister-in-law, Donna Taylor Latham of Farmersville; grandchldren, Jack Peter Young, Johnnie Lee Young, Robert Lloyd Young, all of Bruceville and James William Young and wife, Dusty of Gholson; great-grandchldren, Christopher Lee Young, Shelby Lynn Young, Amanda Kay Young and James Mangino Young; aunt, Jan Johnson of Robinson; and many cousins and dear friends.
