Tom was the son of Chris T. and Emma Dora Burton. He graduated from Easton High school in 1959 and attended Canton College for one year. He served in the United States army at Fort Sam Houston in Texas as a medic.
Colonel Tom was a real estate agent and auctioneer for over 30 years, and later owned Cuzins Restaurant and The Pub in Greenview, IL. He was a member of AmVets 179 in Greenview. He was a character and a presence and he will be missed.
He is survived by two sons and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Russell.
