Lois Maurine Conner Perkins, 85, of Tifton, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014 in Tifton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 6 in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with Rev. Dan Eidson and Rev. Charles Tyson officiating. For those wishing to attend, the interment will follow in Old Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Thursday evening at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors. Pallbearers are Jan Moura, Jim Byrd, Drew Pilkinton, Hunter Pilkinton, Grant York and Lamar Kennedy. Mrs. Perkins was born January 9, 1929 in Ocilla to the late James Russell and Blannie Roberts Conner and was also preceded in death by her husband, Hank Perkins, two brothers and one sister. She graduated from Irwin County High School and retired from Tift Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Perkins was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Her church was very important to her. She enjoyed cooking, pet sitting and trips to the beach and mountains with her daughters. Mrs. Perkins is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Brenda York and Wanda and Powell Gaines of Tifton; four grandchildren, Grant and Janice York of Tifton, Pam and Jim Byrd of Sycamore, Stacey and Jan Moura of Lilburn and Sarah and Wilson Barmeyer of Washington, D.C.; seven great grandchildren, Brittany York, Katy York, Hunter Pilkinton, Drew Pilkinton, Alexis Pilkinton, Jonathan Moura and Tinsley Barmeyer and one great-great grandchild, Raynee. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Southern Care Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Mrs. Perkins.
