Age 78, son of the late Chester and Marie Oaks.Frank was a Master Union Plasterer, working on many area construction projects. He was very talented and did much of the finer work in area churches, doctor's offices, and the Erie Zoo. Frank was a member of the Fulton Club, Slovak Club and American Legion Post 11. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by three children; Sherry G., Gerald L. and Kenneth C. Oaks; one stepson, Craig Plyler (d 10/17/2012 age 48 in an Industrial Accident); two brothers, Milton and Randy; and one sister, Shirley.
Frank is survived by his wife, Violet Plyler Oaks; three sons, Frank W. Oaks, Michael R. Oaks, Gary A. Oaks (Kimberly); one daughter, Mary Ann Oaks Gillett; his stepmother, Joyce Oaks; four stepsons; three brothers, Sam Oaks (Mary), John Drake (Dorothy), Joe Oaks (Rhonda); four sisters, Linda Blake, Kimberly Swope (Joel) and twins, Dixie and Barbara. He is further survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
