Obituary:
Margie Lee Schoenfield Wiesner, 83, of El Campo, passed away on June 4, 2014. She was born on December 28, 1930 at the home of her grandmother Daisy in Old Taiton, Texas to Leo William Schoenfield and Douglas Elzira Richter Schoenfield.
She was a graduate of El Campo High School. She was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for Wiesner Farms. Margie was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters, a past Eucharistic Minister, and a faithful participant of her prayer group. She was a Lady of the Knights of St. Gregory.
Margie was a life-long member of the Taiton Extension Club, having served as past president and as other officers. She was a past Cub Scout leader, and was active in PTC, and Girl Scouts. She was a dedicated supporter of her children's and grandchildren's many activities. She was a talented cook and loved to can the produce from her husband Victor's garden; she won numerous ribbons at the county fair.
Margie loved flowers, especially roses, butterflies, the beach, and everything pink. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Victor, visiting Europe, Hawaii, Mexico, and many states. She created beautiful quilts and delicate works of embroidery and stitchery, which are now family heirlooms. She was also an exquisite seamstress who designed beautiful clothes for her family, including her daughters' dolls.
She met the Love of her life, Victor, at Taiton Dance Hall. Their first dance together was "The Blue Skirt Waltz" and Margie was wearing a blue skirt. It became "their song." She married Victor Martin Wiesner on October 11, 1949 in St. Philip Catholic Church. They were married for 55 years until Victor preceded her to heaven. She was a devoted, loving, and kind wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was affectionately known to her grandchildren as Mimi.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Wiesner of El Campo and Sandra Wiesner Marek and husband Mark of El Campo; sons Glenn Wiesner of New Braunfels, Ronnie Wiesner of El Campo, and Rickie Wiesner and wife Machell of El Campo. Grandchildren Lindsay Marek Sohrt and husband Matthew, Matthew Marek, Jacob Wiesner, Shelby Wiesner, Kyle Wiesner and wife Brittany, and Katie Wiesner Espinosa and husband Alex. Great grandchildren Alexandra and William Sohrt, Kinsley Espinosa, and Kyleigh Wiesner. Brother Donald Schoenfield and wife Gloria of Taiton. Sister-in-law Lucille Wiesner. Special friends Donald and Cindy Priesmeyer and Kim Wiesner. Her loving little companion, her dog Buddy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank M. Wiesner and Agnes Dornak Wiesner.
Visitation will begin at 2 pm on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Triska Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with Reverend Michael Rother officiating. Graveside services will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers are: grandsons Matt Marek, Kyle Wiesner, and Jacob Wiesner; Matthew Sohrt and Donald Priesmeyer; nephews Kenneth Schoenfield, Ted Schoenfield, and Michael Bolcik.
Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters and great grandchildren.
