John W. Southard, 80, LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 02:16 am in Franciscan St. Anthony Health - Michigan City.
He was born March 14, 1934 in Tulot, Arkansas to the late Alfred Southard and Jewel (McPherson) Southard Clark;
On April 17, 1954 in Arkansas he married Carolyn "Sue" Collins, who survives LaPorte, Indiana; Also surviving are: Daughter, Sherry (Tim) Miller of Michigan City, Indiana; Granddaughter, Melissa Miller of Chicago, Illinois; Brother, Terry (Annamarie) Clark of Michigan City, Indiana; He was preceded in death by Son, Steven Southard, 2 Sisters, Janette Bundy, Betty Rawls and Brother, Robert Southard.
John retired after over 40 years with Weil-McLain, Michigan City, Indiana. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, June 6, 2014 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St. Michigan City.
Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana.
