James L. "Jimmy" Martin, 76, of Maryville, went home to be with Jesus, Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Kindred Care Nursing Home. He was a loyal father and husband, loved his nieces and nephews. Jimmy was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, loved car racing and just visiting friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Neva (Green) Martin and his parents, James Lewis and Joyce Lee (Ogle) Martin of Maryville; brother, John Martin; infant brother, Micky Martin; and sister, Kay Martin Dockery.
He is survived by his sister, Phyllis Wilkins of Maryville; brother, Gary Martin of Sevierville; sons, Dan Martin of Madisonville and James Mike Martin of Maryville; grandson Daniel Lewis Martin, and wife Amanda Noe Martin, of New Tazewell; great-granddaughter, Olivia Claire of New Tazewell; step-granddaughter, Christina Watts Farris of Riceville and Danielle Witt of Etowah; many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Caris Hospice Care. Graveside service will be held 4:00 PM Friday, June 6, 2014 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Miller Funeral Home, Maryville. (865) 982-6041 www.millerfuneralhome.org
