Dale Erwin Graves, 80, Tacoma, WA passed away on June 1, 2014. Dale was born in Chelan, WA on September 29, 1933 to parents Grace and Oscar Graves. He graduated from Chelan High School and received a diploma from the Don Martin school of Radio and Television Arts & Sciences in Hollywood, CA in 1952. He joined the U.S. Army 1953, eventually being stationed and serving most of his duty in Anchorage, Alaska. He married Juanita Mae Jackson on December 31, 1954 in Anchorage, Alaska, and they had three children together.

Dale was an avid amateur photographer and outdoorsman, enjoyed framing his own photography prints, many of which he displayed at county and state fairs, and received awards for. He had a special love of Alaska, and for a few years running would spend a week or two in the Brooks Range, north of the Arctic Circle.

Dale spent the majority of his career as a videotape room engineer and crew chief at KOMO-TV in Seattle, the local ABC affiliate. He retired in the early 90s.

Dale is survived by his daughters, Lorraine Graves and Patricia Fusch, his son Steve Graves, sister Judy Messer, and three grandchildren: Daniel, Matthew and Christina Fusch.

Dale will be interred at Tahoma National Cemetery, in a private ceremony. A celebration of Dale's life will be held at Steven Graves' home in northeast Tacoma (Browns Point area) at 1PM on June 14.
