Mrs. Mary Lindridge Preston, widow of Oren A. Preston, died suddenly shortly before 7 o'clock this morning at her home at 607 W. Dominick street. She had been ill only three days. She was 74 years old.
Born at Lee April 5, 1858, Mrs. Preston came to Rome when a young woman and had continued her residence here since. She was a member of the First M. E. Church and of Queen Esther Rebekah Lodge.
Her husband, the late Oren A. Preston, whom she married on August 11, 1889, passed away five years ago.
She is survived by a son, Thomas S. Preston and a grandson, Robert E. Preston, both of Rome. She leaves also a stepson, Harrison O. Preston of Fort Arthur Texas, and a grandson, Harrison O. Preston jr. also in Texas.
