Delia "Marie" Coleman, 83, of Athens, departed this life on Monday evening, June 2, 2014, at her residence.
A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a member of Valley View Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, camping and cooking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Beatrice Hensley King; and brothers, Benjamin Jr. and David King.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James L. Coleman of Athens; sons, Douglas Coleman and wife, Alice, of Decatur, and Stephen C. Coleman and wife, Lisa, of Athens; daughter, Kimberly Coleman Harris and husband, Russell, of Tellico Plains; grandchildren, Amber Cate, Eliza Pillion, Michael Coleman, Ezra Coleman, Elissa Coleman, Kolby Harris, and Peyton Harris; great-grandchildren, Brandon Burnett, Brylen Coleman, Brady Burnett, Riley Cate, Alexis Pillion, Alaina Coleman, Ella Pillion, and Emyln Coleman; sisters, Mary R. Jones of Etowah, and Nellie S. Vaughn of Chattanooga; and brother, Franklin D. King of Englewood.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with the Rev. Gennis Best and the Rev. Hoyt Melton officiating.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, at Cambria Cemetery with Michael Coleman, Ezra Coleman, Brent Cate, Kolby Harris, Peyton Harris, and Chris Nunley serving as pallbearers.
