Robert Hawks, 44, of Pocahontas died at his home Monday, March 21. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 24, at Faith Lutheran Church in rural Palmer with Rev. Richard Taylor officiating.

Robert Eugene Hawks, son of William C. Hawks and Ruth Iola (Singleton) Hawks, was born Jan. 2, 1961, in Emmetsburg. Robert and his family lived in the Havelock and Pocahontas areas during his growing up years. The Lord blessed Robert with four sisters and three brothers. He lived in the Pocahontas area throughout his life, graduating from the Pocahontas High School in 1980. Robert had been employed by Northwest Bodies in Manson and more recently by Buske Manufacturing of Pocahontas. Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman all his life. He thoroughly enjoyed being in the outdoors and spent time with his nephews and friends enjoying these two hobbies. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited. He also enjoyed listening to music.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William.
