Son of John Ernest Pickett, Jr, and Emma Virginia (Stout) Pickett.


Grandson of John Ernest Pickett, Sr. & Winifred Ann (Bacon) Pickett.

Grandson of Russell Stout & Edith Elizabeth (Shepherd) Stout.


Husband of Karen Lorraine (Hodge) Pickett.


Dad of Christopher Scott Pickett, Ryan Mark Pickett, Kayla Grace Pickett, Kara Virginia Pickett.


Step-Father of Kelli Marie (Hanshaw) Truax, Kyle David Hanshaw.


Grew up in Odessa, Delaware and attended Odessa Elementary. Attended St. Edmond's Academy (7th grade) and graduated from Middletown High School, Middletown, Delaware in 1969.


Employed as a Computer Operator, Programmer, System Analyst, and webmaster for the State of Delaware from 1969 through January, 2005 (35 years) when he retired.


After retirement from the State he was employed with Exit Realty as an office administrator, Hilton Bus Service as a school bus driver, Pioneer Concrete as a Concrete Truck driver, and then worked as a Transportation Coordinator for Westminster Village in Dover, Delaware until finally retiring full time on December 7, 2014.


Join the U.S. Army Reserve in 1970 even though the draft was on and he would not have been drafted. Proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1970 through 1978 where he was the Supply Sergeant of the 390th Civil Affairs Group.


After attending classes at Washington Bible College and Freelandia Bible Institute Russ was ordained as a " Bible Teacher " on April 3, 2002 by United Christian Ministries .....


" 52 year Life Member " of the Cheswold Volunteer Fire Company ( Station 43 ), Cheswold, Delaware where he served as the Ambulance Chief and held the office of Secretary for a company record 13 years.
