He was born the son of George and Freddie (Walters) Spencer. Mr. Spencer was a member of the Northwest Hills Baptist church for 45 years. Prior to joining Northwest Hills Baptist Church he was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church since childhood.

Mr. Spencer was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and served his country faithfully during World War II.

He retired from civil service and owned Spencer Used Cars.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Laura Spencer; a son, Timothy Eugene Spencer; a daughter, Kathryn Ellen Spencer; a brother, George Ellis Spencer; a sister-in-law, Cecilia DeSha; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
